Giving Tuesday Festive Thank You

On this Giving Tuesday we would like to send a huge thank you to our incredible supporters for your commitment and dedication to Willow Burn Hospice.

Our festive season didn’t start off as planned with our Nurses Christmas Fair sadly cancelled due to the wintry weather and treacherous road conditions but, in true Willow Burn spirit, you didn’t let us down.

On Monday 27 November we held a Festive Pop-up Market in place of our beloved Annual Nurses Christmas Fair and, thanks to your enthusiasm and support (and our lovely neighbours from Maiden View) we raised an incredible £2,500.00 from our stalls and the sales of festive treats in The Willows Café.

With our Christmas Raffle extended to 13 December, we are hoping that we will sell enough tickets to push this fundraising total to an astounding £3,000.00 - which is quite an accomplishment for a cancelled fair

We would also like to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our Light up a Life Service at All Saints Parish Church on Sunday.

Your presence, as always, made this remembrance event truly special. We hope our service offered some comfort and a chance to reflect on treasured memories with your loved ones.

Thanks to all those who helped put together this year’s event – special thanks to Reverend Lesley Sutherland at All Saints Parish Church to our wonderful readers and to our musical performers; Consett Brass and Lanchester Young Singers.

Thank you to each and every one of you, our generous supporters for your dedications and donations to this year’s Light up a Life Campaign. This year Light up a Life has raised the phenomenal amount of £8,600.00 for hospice care in Derwentside.

Your support means the world to the Nursing and Care Team here at Willow Burn Hospice and to our patients and their families, not just at Christmas but every day. Thank you all for all that you have done and continue to do, to support your local hospice. We are so very grateful.
