We want to share some important news with our Willow Burn family.
Our much-loved Nurse, Denise Elvidge, has recently made the decision to leave Willow Burn Hospice to be closer to her family. So will soon be saying farewell to our Day Centre Lead. Denise has brought kindness, care and laughter to so many over the years and we know she will be dearly missed by patients, families, colleagues and volunteers alike. We send her all our love and very best wishes for the future.
Day Services will continue to develop and thrive under Carol Hagri, who many of you know as the Head of Clinical Services. Carol will be leaving her role and heading up the Day Centre Team in the near future, as she works towards her retirement.
Carol says:
"As I prepare to leave my role as Head of Clinical Services at Willow Burn Hospice, I do so with immense pride. It has been a true privilege to be part of an organisation that genuinely sits at the heart of the community. Willow Burn is more than a hospice, it is a place of compassion, care and dignity, where patients and their relatives are empowered to make the choices that matter to them.
The Clinical Team at Willow Burn are committed, professional and live the values of the hospice every day. Their dedication and empathy, accompanied by passion and good humour, makes the hospice a truly special place to work and lead. That is why I have chosen to stay as part of the team as a nurse, as I work towards my retirement.
I am very proud of what we have achieved together and confident that the hospice is in a strong position to continue delivering outstanding care. I wish every success to the incoming Head of Clinical Service in this rewarding role."
This is a significant development at Willow Burn Hospice and next week we will be opening recruitment for the role of Head of Clinical Services. Find out more on Monday on the Willow Burn Hospice Careers page.
