From the Mini Run (ages 3–8, 1.2km) to the Junior Run (ages 9–15, 4km), the AJ Bell Junior & Mini Great North Run is your chance to experience the excitement, soak up the legendary atmosphere, and show the world your superpower — all while supporting Willow Burn Hospice! Whether you’re running for fun, fundraising in memory of someone special, or aiming for your personal best, join Team Willow Burn and help raise vital funds for local hospice care across Derwentside. Every step makes a difference!
Mini runners (age 3 – 8) must be accompanied by an adult around the course. Junior runners (age 9-16) have the option of running by themselves, or with an adult. Accompanying adults who are running are required to wear the specific accompanying adult bib, which is attached to the child’s run number.
Please note that Willow Burn doesn’t have charity places for the Mini and Junior events, so you’ll need to register and purchase your own place directly through the Great Run website. Once you’ve secured your spot, just let us know - we’ll send you a Team Willow Burn fundraising pack and cheer you on every step of the way!
