This weekend Rebecca is taking part in the Sunderland Half Marathon to raise money in memory of her mother-in-law, Bernadette Stephenson.
Willow Burn cared for Bernadette before she passed away in 2019 and since then her family have continued to support the hospice, just as Bernadette did for many years.
Rebecca said "In late 2019 I had to stop running because of injury, but I promised myself that, the next time I was able to run a half marathon, I'd do it for Bernadette.
Bernadette was a big supporter of Willow Burn before she became ill. I have fond memories of going to a fundraising fair with her and JP's Nana Joyce. Bernadette never failed to sponsor me when I raised money for other causes. Your donation will help Willow Burn continue providing care for people like Bernadette and supporting families like ours.
This time every mile is for you Bernadette!"
In 2021, Rebecca and Bernadette's dog Suzie walked over 100 miles to raise £365 for the Hospice.
Ali English, Fundraiser at Willow Burn Hospice said: "Thank you for taking on this challenge in aid of Willow Burn, we know that Bernadette would be so incredibly proud of you."
