This Volunteers' Week, David Barker, Chief Executive at Willow Burn would like to thank each and every volunteer for all they do to support the hospice.
"This week is Volunteer Week and I wanted to write to you all to thank you for everything you do.
At Willow Burn Hospice we are part of a community where we treasure lives and everyone is supported to live well and die well. A Hospice is special place and your efforts have a deep and lasting impact on the people we are here to help.
We are very lucky at Willow Burn. The willingness our volunteers have to share both their time and their talent speaks volumes about the caring people and communities we have around us.
When you volunteer, you are making a commitment to share that most precious of resources — your time — to make life better for those we support. Whether serving in a shop or our café - raising much needed funds, helping out in the office or Reception, working in our beautiful gardens, being a Trustee or helping us some other way your efforts make a real difference.
Whilst we know that you choose to volunteer selflessly and without expectation of being recognised or rewarded, today I wish to do just that. I want to let you know just how much your dedication is appreciated at Willow Burn. Whether you are a long-time volunteer or if you got involved fairly recently, and regardless of how many hours you choose to give, it's important for you to know that what you do is truly appreciated.
Thank you."
