Everyone at Willow Burn Hospice is deeply saddened by the death of our much‑loved patron, Helen McArdle CBE.
Helen was a valued friend and supporter of Willow Burn Hospice and we are immensely grateful for her generosity, not only in financial support but also in the time, expertise and vision she shared with us. Through Helen’s commitment, we were able to open a new in‑patient wing at Willow Burn in 2018. These state-of-the-art facilities, including the Willows Café, increased our capacity by two beds and enabled us to provide care to more patients and their families across Derwentside.
Helen will be fondly remembered by everyone at Willow Burn and her legacy will live on through the care we provide in the Helen McArdle In‑Patient Wing.
Our thoughts are with Helen’s family and friends at this very sad time.
