On Sunday 30 August Shotley Bridge Cricket Club held their Annual Charity Golf Day and joined forces with Consett Rugby Club for a fantastic day of cricket, fundraising and community spirit which raised an incredible £1,089.75.
The event brought together players, supporters and volunteers from both clubs. Thankfully, the weather stayed kind for most of the day, allowing plenty of cricket to be played before heavy rain brought the final match to an early end. However, the unexpected downpour did little to dampen spirits, with attendees making the most of the opportunity to continue enjoying the day's celebrations together.
The impressive total of £1,089.75 was made possible thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, donated and supported the event. Funds raised will help Willow Burn continue providing palliative and end of life care, as well as emotional and practical support for patients and their families across our local community.
We are incredibly grateful to Shotley Bridge Cricket Club and Consett Rugby Club for thinking of Willow Burn and for their continued support of our work.
Thank you to everyone involved for making the day such a success. Your support helps us continue to be there for local people when they need us most.
