On Friday 31 May the costs to operate the one day of care in the Sir Tom Cowie Day Care Centre and a full day of care in the Helen McArdle In-Patient Wing have been kindly donated by in loving memory of Ken Mitford.
"On 6 October 2023, our Dad, Ken, lost his short battle with liver cancer.
At the end, he was cared for by the incredible team at Willow Burn Hospice.
Ken loved a holiday, and his favourite place in the world was Ibiza. The family are heading there in June to celebrate what would have been his 75th birthday in his favourite spot."
Today is Ken and Margaret's Wedding Anniversary.
In honour of Papa Mitford, and his love for Ibiza, Ken's daughters Laura and Elisabeth have been walking the distance of Newcastle to Ibiza - 1,500 miles (or 3541634 steps) which equates to walking 7 miles every day, in all weathers, and so far they have raised over £2,800.00 for Willow Burn.
