On Thursday 3 August, the costs to operate the Helen McArdle In-Patient Wing for 24 hours have been donated in loving memory of Jean Forster.
Last month, Graeme Forster took on an incredible challenge; together with his friend, Helen Greenwood and his two dogs, Alfie and Oto, Graeme walked 23 miles along the North East Coast from Bamburgh to Low Newton and back again. Graeme took on this amazing challenge in loving memory of his mum, Jean Forster.
Jean spent her final days at Willow Burn Hospice and Graeme wanted to acknowledge the dignity, care and compassion given to his mum at the end of her life.
Each mile walked signified a day of care of his beloved mum, Jean.
The money Graeme and Helen raised from their walk will fund a day of care in the Helen McArdle In-Patient Wing. The support Graeme received is testament to the incredible lady Jean was.
