On Friday 12 April the costs to operate one full day of Day Care in the Sir Tom Cowie Wing have been donated in loving memory of Clara Rennie.
"The 12 April 2024 would have been Clara Rennie's 81st birthday.
The family would like to thank Willow Burn and all of it's team for the amazing support and compassion given to our beautiful mam in her final week. She was so pleased to have found peace there.
Clara passed away on 30 November 2023 after a very short illness and was the most amazingly strong lady we know.
She left her lovely husband of nearly 64 years Alec, who sadly we also lost eight weeks later of a broken heart.
Clara left her three children, Clare, Malcolm and Andrea. Her Daughter in law Jenifer, two son-in-laws Kevan and Gary. Her four grandchildren and five great grandchildren who she adored.
Clara was born and bred in Durham, she was so popular and had so many lovely friends in her life who all miss her greatly. So, for us to be able to give something back to this superb Hospice, it's our pleasure. Thank you.
Mam is in our thoughts every single day and especially today, her first birthday we have not spent together.
Gone but never forgotten and so sadly missed.
