Making Donations to a Willow Burn Hospice Shop
"Say Yes to Gift Aid when you donate your pre-loved items."
Making a Donation
We accept donations Monday to Saturday during shop opening times.
Ring ahead and book a slot for donations of more than a couple of bags so we can create space for you.
If the shop is closed, please don't leave donations outside the shop.
Please check your donations are both clean and functional. We are unable to sell damaged, broken, incomplete or unsafe items.
Bring donations in a bag or container which you don't need back, as we aren't able to return them to you straight away due to health and safety procedures.
Ask about Gift Aid so that the hospice can receive an extra 25p from the Government, for every £1 we raise from selling your goods.
What can you donate?
Women's, men's and children’s clothing
Accessories including handbags, shoes, belts, ties and jewellery
Quality homeware and bric-a-brac such as glassware, picture frames, ornaments and kitchenware
Books, CDs, DVDs and games
Good quality (and complete) toys, jigsaws and games
Arts and Crafts
Soft furnishings - smaller items and not mattresses and duvets
Electrical items
Unfortunately there are a few items that we're unable to sell in our shops for safety reasons and we cannot sell equipment that we can't guarantee the effectiveness of the safety of the product. These include:
Prams, pushchairs/buggies, baby walkers/baby bouncers, high chairs, cots and mattresses and baby slings
Animal products i.e. real fur
Weapons i.e. knives
Sport and safety equipment i.e. bike helmets
Wheelchairs
This is not an exhaustive list.
A full list can be requested from our Head of Retail by contacting: sruddle@willowburnhospice.org.uk
