On Saturday 29 June 2024, Luke took part in The Wild Deer Windermere Triathlon in memory of his beloved Mam, Patricia McCabe.

The Wild Deer Windermere Triathlon is Wild Deer's signature event which takes place at the beautiful Cockshott Point in Bowness and includes 350m of lake swimming, 20km of cycling and 2.5km of trail running, in and around the shores of Lake Windermere

“I chose to raise money for Willow Burn as they supported myself and my family throughout the time my Mam was with them.

Willow Burn is an amazing charity that offers support and care to those in need with outstanding facilities for both patients and their families.

My mam spent a week in the care of the nurses at Willow Burn and throughout her time there was treated to nothing but the best care and attention. The support that Willow Burn have offered me and our family has been nothing short of exceptional during and after her stay.

I have been looking for a reason to raise some money for this well deserving charity and I hope we go above and beyond the total set out, so they can continue their hard work for others who may need their support.”

Luke - we can't thank you enough for taking on this incredible challenge and raising a staggering £800 for Willow Burn.
