Jack's Double Marathon Effort raised over £2,000 for Willow Burn Hospice in memory of his grandad, Freddy.
Following the sad loss of Freddy to cancer, Jack set himself an incredible challenge, completing both the Rome Marathon and the Milan Marathon to support hospice care across Derwentside.
Speaking about his grandad, Jack described Freddy as being “strong, stubborn, funny and full of character” – qualities that have clearly inspired Jack throughout his fundraising journey. His determination, resilience and commitment to honouring Freddy’s memory have been nothing short of remarkable.
Jack explained that his fundraising was his way of giving back and helping other families receive the same compassionate care and support that meant so much to his own family during a difficult time.
We are incredibly grateful to share that Jack has raised more than £2,000 for Willow Burn Hospice. Every pound raised will help us continue providing invaluable palliative care and support to local people and their loved ones when they need it most.
Jack’s achievement is a powerful reminder of the difference one person can make, turning personal loss into something positive that will help many others in our community.
