The Willow Café

The Willows is a beautiful community café located at Willow Burn. The café boasts gorgeous views across Derwentside and an array of delicious home-cooked food. But don’t take our word for it… come and try it for yourself.

The setting is perfect for catching up with friends and family, meeting clients or work colleagues or a family celebration.

There is a variety of seating available inside and outside in our landscaped gardens. Parking is available onsite and payment is cash, chip and pin and contactless.

The Willows Café first opened in 2016 and was refurbished with the development of the Helen McArdle Wing in 2018. The café  is run by volunteers and all profit goes to support the vital work at Willow Burn Hospice. Café.

Please use the main Willow Burn entrance when visiting the café.

We kindly ask you to respect our neighbours who live on Maiden View when parking. Please refrain from parking directly in front of the cul-de-sac outside the front of the hospice to ensure residents have access.

Durham Coffee
The Willows Café is now serving the Willow Burn Blend, created by Durham Coffee. You can also purchase bags of the Willow Burn Blend whilst at the café, so you can enjoy a taste of Willow Burn at home.

Loyalty Reward Scheme
Don’t forget to pick up your loyalty card on your next visit to the Willows Café. After your sixth hot drink, you will get your seventh for free.

The Potting Shed at Willow Burn

The Potting Shed is our plant and gift shop located in the Willow Burn Gadens. Come along and see the treasures you can find, every visit will be different!

All purchases for The Potting Shed can be made in the Willows Café.

Volunteer Opportunities

Throughout the year we have a range of volunteering opportunities, suitable for many skill sets. Roles are often available in: catering, fundraising, retail, maintenance and gardening. If you're interested please submit your application.
