Consett-couple Rachael and Matthew Stewart had the wedding of their dreams this weekend as winners of Willow Burn’s very first Win Your Happily Ever After competition.
Made up with luxury and local suppliers, their wedding package was worth more than £13,000 and was the ultimate prize from this local competition held by hospice charity Willow Burn. Staff and suppliers were absolutely thrilled to be able to offer such an amazing couple an incredible prize.
Rachael and Matthew competed for 10 weeks against other local couples to fundraise the most money for Willow Burn and pipped other contestants to the post with the announcement coming as an early Christmas present in December for the pair.
The wedding was held at the South Causey’s brand new function suite worth more than £6,000 for the space and guests alone – coupled with support and donations from: Lanchester Bridal, Slaters, Moon Jewellery, Cindy’s Flowers, Cakes by Judith, Stanley Travel, Paul Jackson, Snapjunkie Photobooth, Planet Hair, Andrew Dunning Photography, Diamond and Lace Events, Lorraine Murray, Holiday Stylist, Anthony Stringer, AJ Bridal and Our Wedding Moments.
Willow Burn Hospice Fundraiser Jacqueline Pigford said; “We were overwhelmed by the generosity and support from the suppliers – it was a dream for us to organise and an absolute thrill to see the happy couple get the wedding of their dreams! We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported and of course the other couples who took part as well. We wish all of our couples the very best for the future.”
She said; “It is vital to the organisation that we are able to support the community in different ways – being able to put together a wedding is one amazing way we can do that as well as offering first-rate care for people who need us most”.
Willow Burn are excited to announce the upcoming launch of Win Your Happily Ever After 2017/18 and encourages everyone to keep an eye out for registrations opening soon!
